Youth Spring Training Programs

Welcome to our fall programs which offer Learn to Paddle programs for children and teens to become more comfortable in the boats they used at camp this summer, while having fun and making new friends.

This year we have two programs for participants who were in the Regatta Ready camp this summer:

Learn to Sprint Canoe

This spring evening program is designed for the paddler who has little to no experience in Sprint Canoe.  The program offers an opportunity for interested youth to increase their comfort level and paddling skills as a team in Sprint Canoes without having the pressure to keep up with the kayakers.

The focus of the spring training will be the development of paddling skills and technique for long term success in both singles and crew boats. The spring is a great time to develop the skills necessary for the summer season!  Under the new Ontario COVID protocols we will be able to use crew boats for this program as long as Ottawa remains in an Orange COVID zone.

Cost:

  • $100 for member; $120.00 for non-members
  • Tuesday's & Thursday's (6-7:30pm)
  • This program is open to both members and non-members.

Intro to Sprint Kayak Spring Training 2021 (formerly Regatta Ready)

This spring evening program is designed for the paddler who would like to improve their skills in sprint boats.  The program offers a graduated program for children and teens to increase comfort in sprint boats and work together as a team to master paddling skills.

The focus of the spring training will be to work on paddling skills and technique. This program is ideal for anyone registered in the Intro to Competition Camp, former Regatta Ready participant or anyone who is interested in improving their paddling skills.  No experience is necessary.

Cost:

  • $150.00 for members or $180 for non-members
  • Mondays, Thursdays (6-7:30pm) and Saturdays (9:30-11:30am)
  • This program is open to both members and non-members.

ORCC Credit Card Policy:

ORCC offers a variety of payment methods such as cheque, etransfer and credit card.   However, credit card transactions cost the club thousands of dollars every year.  In an effort to keep program pricing reasonable, we ask those participants who wish to pay by credit card to ensure you also pay the credit card convenience fee to help offset the costs to the club.  No convenience fee is charged for etransfers or cheque.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Please be aware of the ORCC Cancellation Policy:
  • Program registration cancellations which are received two weeks prior to the start of the program will receive a full refund less the $15 non-refundable administration fee.
  • No refunds are available within two weeks of the start of program or once the program has started.
  • In the case of injury or illness, a medical certificate may be required, and refunds will only be offered as a prorated credit to be used for a future ORCC camp or program registration.
**N.B. - “The ORCC reserves the right to refuse admission or cancel registrations in the programs at its discretion.”
